summer staycation with famous footwear!

summer staycation with famous footwear!

i’m so excited to be partnering with famous footwear on this post! ever since moving to the suburbs i changed up my work schedule to a true freelance lifestyle. i can’t say i’ve reached the point where i’m a “full time blogger” (YET)… but i’ve been lucky enough to be able to free up more time to dedicate to working with great brands and creating content that really inspires my audience. that being said, oftentimes creativity blossoms when you have time alone, relaxed, and inspired by nature…. so i decided to have a little ‘staycation’ last week right at the jersey shore! i took an afternoon to myself and hung out in spring lake, which is a stunning town with a beautiful, calm, never-crowded beach. read on for how famous footwear was incorporated into my day trip, and how i’ll continue to weave them into my summer 2018 wardrobe!  Continue reading “summer staycation with famous footwear!”

crepe scarves to combat april’s chill

new york really takes a beating during the winter. in what feels like the sixth straight month of cold, bitter weather… i think we’ve all thrown in the towel and have agreed to collectively freeze in spring clothing until mother nature decides she’s ready to join us… so this next look that i’m featuring pairs a (new) denim shift dress with some old accessories that help to keep this look transitional and functional (enough) for our current temperature situation. if you’re reading from a region that’s already warmed up significantly… forget everything i’m about to say, throw this dress on with your favorite sandals, and call it a day. but if you’re here in the tri-state… read on for some simple tips to mid-april-warmth.  Continue reading “crepe scarves to combat april’s chill”

statement sleeves with forever21

statement sleeves with forever21

my father recently turned 60, and we threw him a big surprise birthday bash at his favorite local restaurant with 90 of his nearest & dearest. it was dressy, but low-key at the same time… so when it came to choosing a look, i thought i’d make a statement with sleeves – and i got so many compliments that this entry is dedicated entirely to this flirty, frilly blouse that i snagged at forever21, and all the similar styles that spoke to me as i searched for the perfect ‘statement sleeve’!  Continue reading “statement sleeves with forever21”

the most practical maxi dress for fall

the most practical maxi dress for fall

i love a gypsy glam moment, and this is a fall look that really speaks to me. i wear maxi dresses pretty often. they’re elongating, flattering and a fun way to be comfy and cute at the same time. the trouble with maxi dresses, though, are the fact that once you’ve worn it 5 or 6 times it starts to get real tired. literally everyone at one point or another has looked into their closet and thought “ugh, i’ve worn that so many times already.” that’s why i love this look – because what seems like one maxi dress is actually three super wearable and versatile outfits – making this the most practical maxi for fall. indigo heights x lularoe: round two!

indigo heights x lularoe: round two!

i love it when a brand collaborates with me multiple times, because it means there was a mutual love for both the product and the content. a few months back, i debuted a super fun pair of lularoe leggings (what they’re most well-known for)… and i’m thrilled to be working with them again to showcase one of my new favorite fall pieces, their madison midi skirt!

if it ain’t baroque, don’t fix it

if it ain’t baroque, don’t fix it

yes, i’m a style blogger. but long before the days of indigo heights there lived a musical theater major sitting in a manhattan classroom, learning about ‘period costume design’. this look really reminded me of the textures and the fabrics that i studied, and had me thinking about their place fashion. every once in a blue moon you find something that you just have to have in every single color, print and shade. for me, this summer is all about francesca’s off-the-shoulder bustier tops. you saw it first at my surprise 30th birthday brunch (here)… and you caught a glimpse of it again during my stay at embassy row hotel d.c.
