My Front Door Upgrade with Masonite!

We purchased our home back in June of 2021, and there were so many little things that we wanted to do to really make the space our own. One thing that’s been on my mind for quite some time is a new front door! I’m happy to say I’ve installed one! I chose the Masonite Performance Door System to give the exterior of our house a facelift, and it’s been so much fun partnering with them. Indie’s Enchanted FOURest Photoshoot by The Deerwood Co!

Indie’s Enchanted FOURest Photoshoot by The Deerwood Co!

You all know I LOVE a strong, cohesive theme and for every birthday Indie has had, I have incorporated the party theme into her formal portraits! I don’t know how much longer I’ll do this… do people do formal photoshoots for birthdays beyond age 5? I barely know anyone who does them past the first year! But here we are…. four years in, and I’m going strong – because I cannot deny that I’m extra.

Stevie’s 6 Month Portraits by The Deerwood Co!

I truly cannot believe how half a year has possibly flown by the way that it did…. but here we are celebrating Stevie’s 6 Month milestone with another set of gorgeous portraits by The Deerwood Co! When Indie was 6 months, I did a “Milk Bath” Style photoshoot and so I thought it would be a good idea to do the same for our second sweet girl. She did amazing! She honestly just chilled in the water, as opposed to Indie who was vigorously splashing… but the one thing they both had in common was eating the flowers! Read on for a few extra details and the full gallery!

Connecting The EA/TEF Community

Connecting The EA/TEF Community

In honor of January being EA/TEF Awareness Month, this year I have submitted a short blog post to DifferentDream.com and I thought I’d share my words here on this platform as well. I have tweaked it so that it appeals to a broader audience, but what you’re about to read is pretty close to the article that will be published later this month. If you’ve been following me from before Indie was born, you probably read her birth story and have been keeping up with our journey as parents of a child with Esophageal Atresia/Tracheoesophageal Fistula (abbreviated EA/TEF). If you’re new, you can read my birth story by clicking here. In the article I wrote for Different Dream, I focused specifically on making connections in the EA/TEF Community and how they’ve helped shape our story. You don’t have to have a child with this specific set of special needs to be able to relate to the article you’re about to read – because when it all comes down to it, every parents need to connect with other parents to feel like they aren’t alone sometimes. Whether it be sleeping through the night, or navigating tough conversations, developmental milestones, or choosing the best daycare – “it takes a village” – and in parenthood, finding that village early on will make a world of difference. So I do hope you read and connect with this on some level – and if you have questions about life with EA/TEF, my inbox is always open!
