HOLY COW – Stevie is TWO!

HOLY COW – Stevie is TWO!

One of my favorite parts of Motherhood has been getting to throw epic birthday parties for my girls. I have a blast doing the event design, and I totally “get a high” off the satisfaction of seeing how it all comes together. The best part is that I’ve worked with some incredible vendors over the years, which I can pass on to all of YOU! Stevie’s Barnyard Bash was no exception. When my tiniest babe decided to grow up and turn two, I got to work thinking about what I wanted to do. I decided on a “Holy Cow!” farm theme, and it turned out seriously cute! Read on for all the details and photos from this event to inspire your next kid-friendly soiree!

Stevie’s Baptism – 4.30.22

Stevie’s Baptism – 4.30.22

I am thrilled to be sharing the details of Stevie’s Baptism! I’ll start by saying that we aren’t particularly religious people, and Stephen grew up in a non-practicing Jewish household but I am proud to have baptized both of my children into the Catholic church because – especially after the hardships we’ve been though with Indie, we believe it’s important for our girls to have some kind of roots in faith. Personally, I pray during my times of need. And I’m not afraid to thank God when I feel the abundant blessings in my life. I feel strongly that they can (and will ultimately) choose their faith and fall into a natural relationship with religion, and whatever it may end up meaning in their lives is cool by us! I believe we have chosen Godparents for our kids that will really see them and hear them and guide them during their lives’ transitions and this past weekend was a celebration of that for our sweet Stevie Sage. Read on for details about the event, and for a whole gallery of imagery and party-decor inspo!

Indie’s Third BEE-Day Portraits by The Deerwood Co!

Indie’s Third BEE-Day Portraits by The Deerwood Co!

I thought it pertinent to give these portraits their own blog post and their own special little corner of the internet. A few weeks ago, with our BEE-Day theme in mind, we traveled down to South Jersey to pay a visit to our pal Jess, owner of The Deerwood Co! She always captures the most gorgeously jawdropping photos and I wanted some professional shots to snap Indie at this precious age, because let’s be real… it’s all going way too fast! Read on for details about our shoot and to see the finished product – two looks, and two spins on the same theme.

Stevie’s “Fresh 48” Shoot!

Stevie’s “Fresh 48” Shoot!

I am so excited to share our ‘Fresh 48’ photoshoot by The Deerwood Company! When Indie was born, I had a similar session scheduled and had to cancel for obvious reasons. This time, it brought me such great joy to have our photographer be able to visit the mother-baby unit to photograph our littlest love in all her good health. There’s not much else to say about this other than: look at these GORGEOUS PICS!!!!!!!

Hospital Bag Checklist!

Hospital Bag Checklist!

Finally getting around to showing you guys what I packed in my hospital bag ahead of meeting Baby Sis! I want to preface this post by saying that, as someone who prioritizes photos and blogging, I probably pack way more than what’s actually necessary…. so take this all with a grain of salt. The reality is that all your baby really needs is YOU (and an outfit to go home in!). Focus on the essentials for yourself – what will make you comfortable – and the rest will fall into place. It’s amazing how much the hospital actually provides you with… but some people just prefer to have their own “stuff” – and I’m one of those people! I also packed a bag like this when I had Indie and I learned very quickly that NONE OF IT MATTERS. Her birth and NICU stay made all plans go out the window and 90% of my “bag” was literally useless with the exception of a change of clothes. Do not lose sight of this! It’s so important to remember why you’re there: To get baby Earthside safe and sound. The rest is nominal. Read on to check out my full packing list this time around!

TWO The Moon! Indie’s 2nd Birthday

TWO The Moon! Indie’s 2nd Birthday I cannot believe that in just a few short days my tiny, brand new baby will be TWO. “The days are long, but the years are short”…. isn’t that the saying? She continues to amaze us in every way. It’s been a unique and challenging year since her first birthday party (which was the last time we really gathered with all our family and friends under one roof) – and the global pandemic has gotten in the way of us having a big birthday bash for her this time around, but I’ll be damned if I let such a special time pass without a little extravagance! Read on for some behind the scenes of our themed birthday photoshoot, and of course, to see the final product! Continue reading “TWO The Moon! Indie’s 2nd Birthday”

catching zzz’s: my consultation with jennifer gilman, child sleep consultant!

catching zzz’s: my consultation with jennifer gilman, child sleep consultant!

stranger: “awww your baby is adorable!” you: “thank you!” stranger: “is she a good sleeper?” … i’ve always heard that there would be a whole slew of comments and questions i’d get the minute i became a mother but this is easily the most common and typical conversation that i’ve had with nearly everyone who has met my daughter. what does “is she a good sleeper” mean, anyway? at 14 weeks, an infant’s schedule is completely unpredictable. does she sleep a billion hours a day? YES…are those hours the same every day? NO… does she give a hoot if she wakes me at 4am? the bags under my eyes say absolutely NOT. in reality – we were blessed with a “good sleeper” by society’s standards. she’s easy to put down, she adjusted quickly to her crib, and once she’s aware that it’s bedtime she (usually) stays in her crib for 7 hours straight give or take. but even with this current reality – i’m well aware that at only 3 months old, all of this could change on a dime – and FAST. so i called in the “big guns” and met with jennifer gilman, new jersey’s certified child sleep expert with good night sleep site. read on to hear about our consultation, and for some of my favorite tips & tricks that i learned during our time together!
