can you be playful and structured at the same time? jeff wan says YES with his latest summer ’18 handbag!

it’s going to approach 100 degrees in the tri-state-area today, so in honor of this true summer weather we’re having, i’m adding a pop of color to your lives with this post! i’m excited to be partnering with jeff wan, a new york based designer, to showcase his le morne lunch box bag! read on to hear about how i styled this unique piece, which combines structure with fun!

the jeff wan vibe is all about COLOR this summer, so naturally we’re a perfect fit together…. and as an advocate for ‘attainable, affordable fashion’ i was excited to carry this investment piece, because it’s hefty price tag only served as more of a challenge for me. how do i take this unique, once-in-a-while piece… and rock it with an affordable, everyday outfit? challenge ACCEPTED. at first i thought about going monochromatic, but at the last minute i changed my mind and thought it necessary to spice things up with pink tones, so i opted for this asymmetric ruffle-top from target paired with some skinny jeans! (shop them both via the links below!) i loved the way the clean lines of the ‘lunch box’ bag contrasted with the sloped neckline and frills on the top. however, the plaid detailing ties it all together and in fact makes this shirt look far more structured than it would in any other scenario. (trust me, i’ve tried).

on my feet i’m wearing loafer-flat-hybrids by b.p. purchased a nordstrom! unfortunately these bad boys are sold out, but i’ve linked you all to some similar pairs that will make the same statement. that said, these shoes were still under a hundred bucks. they’re loud, they stand out, but they’re by no means considered designer. that’s how i roll. one luxe piece combined with a ‘real person’ outfit takes your fashion game up several notches!

i accessorized with earrings from francesca’s which are always a steal – plus a set of stackable bracelets gifted to me by kendra scott. up against the aqua wall, this outfit made major waves! (fun fact – this wall is the side of a run-down, closed-up old ice cream parlor! i was so worried when moving to jersey that i wouldn’t find as unique photo backdrops… but boy was i wrong! and the best part? i can change in my CAR when shooting here, as opposed to a starbucks bathroom or the middle of the NYC streets! i may have to ‘location scout’ a bit more than i did before… but when you really look, there’s no shortage of fun spots to shoot blog content.) i wound up changing into a navy dress later that evening, but i still rocked my jeff wan bag. even in a more subdued color palette, i received so many compliments. this is a piece that you certainly won’t find anyone else carrying this summer… and for that, i’d say it’s worth the splurge! it comes with a longer strap option, as well as a magnetic top closure. it’s roomy, and you can choose from yellow, green, red, blue, or black to keep it classic!

would you carry this different piece? follow along on instagram to watch me style this periodically throughout the entire summer!
