i’m on an EPIC diet at the moment as i prep for my first ever trip to jamaica on july 3rd. i’m determined to get into tip top bikini shape, but i’ll admit i had quite the cheat meal when i recently devoured tito’s burritos and wings in boonton, nj. sorry, not sorry!!! read on to hear about my experience at this awesome small chain, but more importantly, to get to the droolworthy photos!
my colleague gabby and i went for a long lunch where we checked out the entire space – including their tortilla making machine! (YES, the tortillas are made fresh in-house. YES, they are that much better because of it.) we ordered way more food than we could actually handle… mostly because we wanted to sample a little bit of everything. with five locations throughout new jersey, tito’s is mexican food with serious surf-vibes. one of my latest instagram posts features their navy and aqua striped wall, a decor choice that you’ll find at every location. i love how colorful and vibrant it is when you pass a tito’s! or better yet… when you go inside one!
we shared a steak quesadilla, a ‘big easy’ bowl (chicken & mexi-rice with all the fixin’s!), chips – salsa – guac… and of course: THE WINGS!!!! i have heard from countless friends in the area that the wings are a must-try and they were so not kidding. we ordered a half n’ half: 6 ‘hot sweet & sticky’ (honey based with a habanero kick) and 6 ‘double overhead’… which is a notch below the spiciest (wings of death)… and woah…. let me tell you – these guys are HOT HOT HOT! which i loved, because spicy food is my jam.
we had plenty of leftovers (… does eating my leftovers count as a second cheat meal?!) and it’s safe to say i’ll definitely be back there again soon. lunch on a weekday was booming, the staff was so friendly and fun, and of course the food left me in a complete and total coma it was so amazing!!! many thank you’s to the team at tito’s burritos and wings in boonton! you can also check them out in summit, ridgewood, morristown and south orange. jersey people… if you go anywhere this weekend – give tito’s a try and tag me in your foodie pics!
