my favorite transitional top for spring 18!

it’s that time of year again – spring has not sprung, and we’re all sitting around twiddling our thumbs waiting for mother nature to end her temper tantrum. so naturally, i’m featuring a ‘transitional’ piece that can be warn soon – and straight through to fall!

i partnered with romwe, who #sponsored this awesome ‘one size fits most’ short sleeved buttondown for my february trip to mexico. complete with a tied waist and a breast pocket, this silky top is light, airy and perfect for warm weather! when i wore it, i paired it with old navy ‘boyfriend’ shorts (my new favorites because i’ve got more in the belly than i do in the legs – and the stretchy fabric allows me some breathing room in the waist!). i also wore leather toms (which dress up traditional fabric toms) and a pom-embellished fedora. it was a casual, easy resortwear look.

but let’s imagine this shirt in another scenario for a minute…. because this type of top can be worn open with a tank underneath, with a maxi skirt, jeans, even leggings and sneakers! i know for one i’ll be rocking it with leggings from now until the point that it’s warm enough for me to bare these gams! it comes in multiple colors, and really is so easy to wear that you can start wearing it now to add a bit of spring flair to your wardrobe without completely freezing.

do you have any pieces that can cross over seasons? what’s your favorite type of transitional piece? get your own linked below, and follow along on instagram for more in my tulum series!
