be a star this christmas with a chic, modern twist on the typical ‘holiday outfit’

it seems like every other evening i’ve got some type of holiday soireĆ© happening – and i’m not complaining because i love it!!! but after busting out almost every skirt i own, it was time to kick it down a notch. read on to see how i styled a funky pair of ‘statement jeans’ to be holiday-ready!

purchased on black friday for a total steal, these ‘star jeans’ from lord&taylor aren’t holiday, per se, but dressed up with a red velvet blazer the entire vibe changes! i stuck with the glittery accents and wore a belt (which is rare for me) as well as a glitzy silver ‘envelope’ clutch that’s small enough to be handheld, but large enough to hold all my stuff.

on this day i had just gotten my hair colored and styled by chelsey drapeau at saint rose salon in williamsburg so i was really feelin’ myself and i absolutely cannot forget to mention that my followers will receive 15% off their first booking when they call & mention INDIGO HEIGHTS. happy holidays, indeed!!!

back to the look: between the belt, the star accents, and even the button on my blazer – i had enough texture and shine happening, so i kept it pretty toned down when it came to jewelry, by throwing on my swarovski cocktail ring and some simple studs. on my feet, i’m wearing flat ankle booties by clarks – because like the skirt situation, i had about enough of wearing heels everywhere, too. these shoes have a slight point at the toe which automatically makes them a wee bit sexier and dressier. you could almost fool ’em into thinking that you were wearing heeled booties (if your strut is confident enough on it’s own!). i’ve linked you guys to some amazing velvet blazers and similar booties to add to your collections. these are fantastic staple must-have pieces that will come in handy over and over again, not just during the holiday season! follow along on instagram if you haven’t already!
