i’m a born & bred jersey girl with lifelong roots in nyc and i try to steer clear of tourist attractions 10 months out of the year, but there’s just something about the holiday season in manhattan that has me flocking to all the best sights – the bryant park winter market, the rockefeller center christmas tree, the ice rink, and of course the ‘top of the rock’ exhibit! so last weekend i took to one of my favorite exhibits on the coldest day of the year, bundled in some new winter gear that i’m super psyched to be featuring.
i spent the day watching the rock center christmas tree get craned into place, and then headed up to the top of rockefeller center to take in the incredible views of the city after a pitstop at bill’s bar & burger for some grub.
my jessica simpson brand leather moto jacket is actually super warm, so when paired with a chartreuse sweater that i’d purchased last year from american eagle, it was enough insulation to keep me comfy all day, especially when paired with my newest accessory, a faux-fur scarf from target that, ironically, has chartreuse accents. the jacket and the sweater are last-season specials, but i’ve provided links to some really beautiful alternatives that are popular this season.
i decided to go all-out with the color scheme by donning a matching beanie and some white lace-up winter boots (also from target!). for this occasion, it was important that i was comfortable yet had space for my precious camera… so i carried a leather marc jacobs backpack (but i’ve linked you all to a newer version which is actually nylon – it’s a super cool and current texture on a similar silhouette!)
