the most practical maxi dress for fall

i love a gypsy glam moment, and this is a fall look that really speaks to me. i wear maxi dresses pretty often. they’re elongating, flattering and a fun way to be comfy and cute at the same time. the trouble with maxi dresses, though, are the fact that once you’ve worn it 5 or 6 times it starts to get real tired. literally everyone at one point or another has looked into their closet and thought “ugh, i’ve worn that so many times already.” that’s why i love this look – because what seems like one maxi dress is actually three super wearable and versatile outfits – making this the most practical maxi for fall.

yep, you guessed it… this set is a two piece! hats off to target, yet again, for putting forth the goods! in this post i’m wearing both pieces at the same time to create the illusion of a dress — but i’m planning future looks wearing each piece separately! how cute will that top look with some skinnies?! and i could picture the skirt with booties & a black blazer. this set was a no-brainer purchase for me. the top is loose and required a lacy bralette beneath it, which added nice texture to the look. on my feet, i’m wearing super comfy ‘braga’ patent leather loafers in burgundy, #sponsored by earth brands. i am so completely obsessed with these shoes! i have plantar fasciitis so i search high and low for footwear that provides maximum comfort. these really do the trick. earth brands’ earthies collection feature an innovative, cushioned, uniquely-molded footbed. the cupped heel sets the foot into the proper position, an anatomic arch increases touch points along the transition from the heel to the forefoot and a cradled toe area evenly distributes weight away from toes. it is the ultimate in arch placement, and you feel it with every single step you take!

last but not least, this look wouldn’t be complete without some funky jewelry, and gorjana #sponsored this stunning pair of earrings that combine two of my favorite styles — hoops & tassels! i love how well the tassels blend with my (new and improved) eggplant hair! it’s all about the purple tones in this look and i wouldn’t have it any other way. follow along on instagram for more #ootd’s!
