it’s no secret that i have a slight obsession with target’s who what wear collection — and when it came to finding unique pieces for fall ’17, this was just the line i needed to shop in order to stand out and feel amazing (without breaking the bank).
this midi dress has a cinched, elastic waist with an optional front-button closure for modesty. this is the perfect “going out to dinner” dress, because it’s unique and stylish, but allows for optimal breathing room (yes, i will look at the dessert menu!). at no point did i feel constricted, and the length and sleeves were ideal for braving chicago’s fall chill. (hey new york… get it together, i’d like to wear this dress again some time soon but 80 degrees is not cutting it!)
i wore it with my favorite zara booties and the same sam edelman clutch featured in my last post. since this look has a lot going on, i kept jewelry at an all-time miniumum… but instead of crazy earrings or layering necklace, i wore a beaded matching hair pin that i picked up at a general store in frisco, colorodo. i always knew that thing would come in handy someday!
hair accessories are so underrated, and in some cases, they are just as good as a cool piece of statement jewelry! i’ve linked you to two similar styles found (handmade) on etsy.
i am so, so glad i put this look together because it’s one of my recent faves. on the rack, this dress could seem “dowdy” or even shapeless – but i urge you to try on silhouettes that you don’t typically wear. you might be surprised at how glam you wind up feeling! follow along on instagram to stay in the loop!
I would be obsessed with that dress too!! Whoa! I need to check out Target! I always think of it as only being for inexpensive staples rather than a great find like that!
