the last outfit i wore on my trip to italy (yes, literally the last outfit before i flew home) was fun and casual. denim skirts have been all the rage for spring/summer 17, and by august, i was needing to put a twist on it so i went full schoolgirl style in a forever21 pleated number for a dinner in the boardwalk town of soverato.
initially i had wanted to shoot this look amongst all the games and rides, but the details on this outfit really got lost in the busyness of the boardwalk, so i ducked into a small section of beach with some super cool structures in the background and this outfit wound up showcasing beautifully. both the skirt and the top are from forever21 so they are super affordable. the icing on the cake are my pearl-accented flat sandals from target. i upped the ante on this outfit by wearing my vintage gucci bag and some minimalist turquoise statement jewelry. this is something i love to do – and i write about it a lot… but its easy to make a budget-friendly outfit look like a pricy one simply by adding a few statements into the mix!
now it’s back to the madness (and inspiration) of new york fashion week! i hope you’ve been enjoying my first few outfits as i post them to instagram. a full #nyfw recap will be coming to the blog soon – but until then, stay super tuned into insta stories for a play by play of all the fabulous events i’ve been attending!
