boats n’ bows

one of my favorite parts of our amalfi coast trip was sailing on a private yacht to the island of capri. this was the most luxurious excursion, and i had it planned for months, so you know i made sure my head to toe look was one that would blend beautifully with our surroundings.

boohoo to the rescue! i’m such a fan of this online boutique because they sell quality pieces at affordable prices. my off the shoulder frilly one piece was only $40, and with a promo code, i wound up purchasing it for $20! real talk though: my initial order never showed up, and it was mere days before my trip, so i had no choice but to re-order it as a rush and wound up paying way more than i ever should have. unfortunately, more and more online retailers are doing away with telephone operators and steering their brands toward email customer service. this is a serious pet peeve of mine, especially if your goods are being shipped internationally… so while i’m thrilled with the quality of my purchases, i would recommend giving yourself extra shipping time when ordering from this company in case of any issues. on a lighter note, it paired beautifully with my limited edition head scarf by ten clothing and some beaded statement earrings from francesca’s. this look was as picture perfect as the sights we took in!

okay, on to all the fabulous we crammed into this day… our captain’s name was luca, from gianni’s boats. we left the port of positano and sailed for four hours – visiting the emerald grotto, the white grotto, and the famous blue grotto. we did a bit of swimming on the way, downed some veuve cliquot, sunbathed, and of course took tons of photos. i even jumped out of our boat and swam while going through the blue grotto! it was amazing – but more on that in my full italy  vacation recap, coming soon to the blog! a trip that normally takes one our by boat took us four because we were soaking everything in, and loving every minute of it.

with fall around the corner, i’ll certainly miss all the fun swimsuits i’ve been rockin. this one in particular could totally be worn as a bodysuit with jeans and heels while the weather is still nice! would you be bold enough to try it? shop my entire look below, and follow along on instagram for more travel inspo!
