over the weekend i spent a day in new jersey at long branch’s luxurious pier village beach. it was conveniently close to the wedding i attended, so the hubby and i made the most of it and caught some rays. this was an impromptu photoshoot! i had packed a suit that i’ve featured #ontheblog many times before… but wound up “acquiring” this gorgeous piece by karla colletto from everything but water when i rummaged through my aunt’s closet.
though this piece is from last season, there are so many summer ’17 styles on the everything but water website. however, i’ve also linked you guys to some similar styles below – because this silhouette is mega flattering! it’s a colorblock design, but the colors are muted – navy, black & a pop of midnight blue mesh for a peekaboo of skin. unlike most colorblock styles, these colors are all in the same family. there’s no crazy brightness happening, yet the midnight blue mesh really stands out (likely because of it’s different texture).
the one thing i wish this suit had was a little more chest support. there’s no shelf bra or cups, so it can get a bit… let’s say… revealing at times? but overall i was so pumped to snag this after my aunt swore it didn’t fit her anymore. the geometric design really draws the eye down the middle which creates a slimming effect, so i was feeling super sexy and loving the curves! to top it off – i even managed to keep my down-do in after the wedding the night before (courtesy of mb45 studio!). it wound up being a surprisingly fun and fashionable beach day look, so i decided to share it with you all! follow along on instagram to see this suit (and many more!) pop up over the next few weeks. i’m headed to italy today where i’ll be photographing quite a few new pieces… swimwear and more! stay tuned!
