as many of you know, when i started this blog i was lucky enough to stumble upon style collective, a community of bloggers from all over the county that banded together to offer each other tips, tricks, support, and of course friendship! being a part of style collective has introduced me to so many likeminded, entrepreneurial young women who inspire me to continue producing high-quality, creative and original content every day. because style collective sisters are country-wide, it’s super easy to meet up with your insta-buddies IRL while on vacation… so i took the opportunity to have a few cocktails with kat pierre and karen edwin during my stay a the embassy row hotel in washington, d.c.!
the embassy row hotel has been amazing so far (today is my last day!) – and there will be a full recap coming to the blog soon with anything and everything you need to know about this boutique gem in the heart of D.C., but in this entry i’m focusing on my “mini style collective power-hour meet-up” and how i made two new friends within minutes of meeting them.
we met on the hotel’s front patio and talked blogging, balancing work and creativity, and strategized new and unique ways to boost social engagement. karen and i tried the embassy row’s newest summer creation: a rasberry mint mojito- while kat opted for a piña colada, which they serve straight up in a coconut. cut to us immediately getting our phones out to document the beauty of these beverages! it felt so awesome to meet two virtual strangers and immediately have a connecting factor that keeps conversation flowing effortlessly (with or without the alcohol!) — if you’re a budding blogger and you think style collective could be perfect for you, feel free to comment with all your questions so i can guide you!
i’ll admit – D.C. has so many more style collective “sisters” and planning a meet-up from another state was a challenge, but with embassy row as our stellar hosts, the execution wound up completely perfect – and i totally made two new friends in the process! stay tuned – more to come on my first (ever) trip to D.C. – but first, fourth of july festivities! hope everyone has a safe and fun holiday! follow me on instagram to stay looped!
