this season i haven’t been shy when it comes to flaunting all sorts of bells + whistles in my #ootd’s. adding some pizzaz to my ‘summer uniform’ (shorts + a teeshirt) was necessary in keeping the spark alive between my weekday wardrobe and i. i’ve found some great casual pieces that up the ante from basic to beautiful.
i love a ‘cold shoulder’ top – especially one that’s decked out in tassels like this gem from forever21. (i’ve linked some similar styles below). it was a perfect match for my michael kors ‘flora’ clutch and some basic white chino shorts from old navy – affordable, comfortable, easy to get in every color! i threw on a braided belt with this look. i rarely wear belts, but in this case i felt that the top and the clutch were a bit more dressed up than the shorts were. adding a belt, in my opinion, is a great way to dress up said chinos. now, i wear these shorts over a onepiece to the beach in lieu of a coverup – or – with an outfit like this one!
my jewelry is all from express (a birthday gift courtesy of my girl kelli – thanks kelli!) i love the pop of blue in the earrings which matches the stacking bracelets. she knows me to a tee!
the only accessory not worn on my body? the fun cups sporting my name from lizzmonade. i had an iced tea/lemonade combo sweetened with stevia to keep it low fat and it was so refreshing! if you’re ever in brooklyn, check out their pier 1 popup in dumbo. on that note, don’t forget to follow @indigoheightsblog on instagram for daily life + style inspiration! shop this look (and similar pieces) below:
After reading that all of your photos are selfies… I find myself asking “How?!” at every photo. Nonetheless, love how you accessorized that fun top. I am THE WORST at dressing myself, but if its possible, I am even worse at accessorizing.
