we had a few absolutely gorgeous days in the forecast last week, and i took it as an opportunity to meet up with my blogger buddy @simplygailg to show her around brooklyn heights (and of course so that we could shoot our looks!). this is literally the first time someone else has shot an entire look for me. usually, i have a method to my madness and i create all content myself, but this time, i let gail take the reigns and she nailed it! (or, gailed it? ……. i’ll stop now, i swear) i also met mary, from @layersofchic, and it turns out we’re going to be neighbors soon! before i really dive into my outfit, i just want to say how grateful i am for style collective, which has given me amazing resources and ‘introduced me’ (both digitally and in-person) to some awesome like-minded ladies. it’s great to have people who understand what you’re doing, to bounce ideas off of, and – in this case – to take your picture for you! i’m looking forward to meeting so many more blogger babes (and style junkies!) at my event with vera bradley soho this sunday! get your (free) ticket and come say hi, have a mimosa, get your hair did, and take advantage of the exclusive discounts!
i was headed directly to work, and then directly to a going away party thereafter… so i needed to make sure i wore something that was comfortable, non-restricting, but also put together enough to attend an event. i chose a printed romper from target and layered my favorite aerie bralette beneath it. i went full boho with these lace-up gladiator sandals (purchased from tjmaxx) — but my favorite aspect of this outfit would have to be my earrings. i found these gorgeous tassels at a street fair in the wynwood art district of miami. the maker is marcela lopez, an artist, and i met her in person that day. in fact, she helped me pick them out because there were so many of her beautiful earrings that i loved. there’s something incredibly special about buying statement pieces directly from their creator. i wore them recently when i gave myself an epic blowout for my zotos professional collaboration and they got so many (real life and insta) compliments that i have absolutely no hesitations about featuring them again, except this time in a formal blog post.
