big blog news! oh, and – the perfect shift dress under twenty dollars!

forever21.jpgi just got back from (another) whirlwind trip to miami, and as always, that city delivered! i had a blast with my girlfriends and we went to some amazing dinners, day parties and lounges. that’s code for “there were so many looks for me to feature that i couldn’t choose just one”. i went ahead and selected some of my favorite getup’s.

but before i get into all that…. i’m super pumped to announce that my application was accepted to rewardstyle, a platform where social media influencers and their followers can ‘shop the look’! you can download the LikeToKnow.it app to get started. if i’m ever wearing something that you’re obsessed with, screenshot the photo… open the app…. and voila! you’ll have all the info you need to purchase the pieces that i wear in one easy click. i can even include similar items that might inspire you to put together your own looks! it’s a process that will take some getting used to…. so be on the lookout and my first rewardstyle post will make it’s way to the blog as soon as possible!

now back to business: this first look is something i wore out to dinner. we were going for soul food, so i made a point avoid anything fitted!!! i had been dying for a springy shift dress. everywhere i go, they are always too boxy and too long. at only five feet tall, the ‘potato sack’ look does me absolutely no justice. i was super excited when i found the ‘floral graphic shift dress’ from forever21. this piece is a serious steal at under $20. though it’s got the loose potato sack vibe, it’s fitted nicely through the bust – and the flowers are strategically placed towards the outer edges – which makes this dress super slimming. i paired it with the econi fringe sandals in blush by guess, and an ivory perforated clutch from francesca’s (similar here). the amazonite beaded necklace is also from francesca’s and you can find something similar on their website. amazonite is a semi-precious stone, and makes such a statement. though it’s multi-colored, i find that this necklace acts as a neutral. what do you think? overall this was definitely a look for the books. i’ll definitely be back to forever21 to find a similar-sized shift that’s petite (and wallet) friendly! tag me on instagram if you have a shift dress that you’re obsessed with!
