#ootd: the perfect midi dress courtesy of target

it seems like forever ago that i was in miami staying at the delano hotel. lucky for me, i’ll be headed back in just a few short weeks and i’m already thinking about the outfits i’m putting together! i decided to throw it back to one of my favorite looks from my february trip with mom. everyone who knows me knows i’m a target freak. i pair staple pieces with ‘high-turnover’ trend-specific pieces to ensure all of my looks are cost effective, even when they feature some pricey products. target comes in handy for being on trend, affordable, comfortable and convenient. (stephen and i even registered at target for our wedding!) this is the women’s tie-back midi dress in yellow by xhilaration. i had been wanting to try a midi dress for a while, and i find that the tighter they hug the knee, the shorter they make me look. at only 5 feet tall, i’d been on the hunt for something that would let my legs breathe, while still giving off the same midi vibe that’s been having such a moment lately. at under $28, this dress got so many compliments. the high neck is the ideal silhouette for a statement necklace (i chose a white and gold tribal piece that i sifted for at a local garment district warehouse shop). i believe in mixing prints, so i opted to carry my covet crosby bag in ‘snake’ from stella & dot and i kept it simple on the feet with some last season grey wedges from nordstrom (similar here). it was the perfect look for a nice dinner out in south beach. what’s your latest and greatest #targetfind? tag me on instagram!
