the wynwood series: look no. 2

an excerpt from wynwood series: look no. 1 — “wynwood has taken over what used to be the warehouse and manufacturing district of miami. now, warehouses have turned to cafes, restaurants, boutiques and bars…. set in a community where every single solitary building is splattered with color. different murals line the streets – some are like painted wallpaper – others tell a full story in one picture. the wynwood arts district houses some of the most creative artists in the country. if you’re lucky, your work will wind up in the wynwood walls, one of the largest open-air street installations in the world. walking through this exhibit – and the neighborhood in general – was so aesthetically stimulating for me (lover of all things bright and colorful). i came prepared, complete with my tripod and outfit changes, to photograph some fun spring/summer looks against the most epic backdrops.”

look number two is beachy, light and ethereal. off the shoulder tops are really making a comeback (see my recent feature here) and i was rocking them in full force on this miami trip. it’s a great way to show a little skin while still keeping the outfit loose, flowy and comfortable. this look was just enough against the terra-cotta and white patterned wall (which was my personal favorite of the three). bright, exotic and tasseled jewelry fit the vibe to a tee.

the top i wore is from forever21, and similar styles can be found here. these denim shorts are specifically advertised as ‘butt lifters’ (…. do they work?!) – they are super stretchy yet somehow they keep their structure and they don’t loosen at all the longer you wear them. they’re from necessary clothing! my jewelry looks like a set, but the pieces are actually from different stores. my aqua-colored tassel statement earrings are last season baublebar, and the ‘matching’ bracelets are (also) from forever21.

i love this outfit because i don’t feel ‘costumey’ or out of place in this peasant top, since i’ve paired it with classic bottoms. to take the boho look further, this top would look amazing tucked into a flowy floor-length skirt! which way would you wear it? follow me on instagramfor more inspiration!
