i recently traveled to miami, one of my favorite cities in the u.s. – and in true liz fashion, i just had to fill my suitcase with some fresh new pieces of resortwear to set the mood. as i browsed my favorite shops, i noticed there was an old trend on the rise again: the off-the-shoulder crop top. i’m not talking 80’s style aerobic realness, either. the blouses i was spotting (and sporting) everywhere i went were an ode to the free spirit of the 70’s. the light, breezy fabrics in earthy and muted prints sauntered the boardwalks and art deco neighborhoods of miami (where everyone is well dressed). i had fun putting together this daytime look, which is modern, with just a dropof ‘hippie’. i paired my current favorite off-the-shoulder-crop (courtesy of mystique boutique nyc) with booty lifting denim shorts (from necessary clothing) and neutral-grey wedged platform sandals (similar here). the jewelry tying this look together is super gorgeous. i wore two out of three pieces in a set from chloe & isabel called ‘bella fiore’ which i’ll be featuring in it’s entirety in a later post. these are gold plated statement pieces with pearlized ivory floral accents and pastel colors. for this look, i choose to wear the bracelet (see link above) and the earrings, keeping the neck open and bare. topping it all off: bouncy hair, oversized shades and a pineapple tote (from etsy).
need to dress it up a bit more? this last picture features the stella & dot covet crosby bag in ‘snake’ – a clutch that can also be worn as a crossbody! really kicks the outfit up a notch. and here is the ‘asteroid top’ – another example of this trend, also found at mystique boutique.
