stella & dot x indigo heights: virtual trunk show look no. 3

you guys…. my stella & dot virtual trunk show is still happening!!! so if you have yet to browse the spring 2017 collection – now is your chance! we’re in the home stretch, and i’ve saved a really fun look for my last blog feature.

overall, i’m obsessed with this outfit and after i talk jewelry i will most definitely be talking clothes. but the star of this show is clearly the trove tassel necklace. this is a true statement piece – dressy enough, while adding just a touch of boho flair. i got so many compliments on this piece. it’s the type of necklace that looks way more pricey than it actually is. at $89, i could see this pulling together so many looks during wedding season. (ladies…. you know it’s right around the corner!!!) but for this look, i opted to rock it in a completely unique way: i let this necklace soften a look that’s rough around the edges! the trove tassel did a great job at toning down the major ‘biker chick vibes’ that i was giving off during this #ootd.

i love the remaining accessories that my stylist, jess sigler, put together to go with this necklace. the triad hoops are the perfect subtle earring to wear when your other accessories are on the loud side, and i find them to be really pretty when hair is worn up and away from the face. and i should mention that they’re only $29….. a no-brainer when it comes to a ‘basic staple must-have’ in your accessories bin. along with the hoops, we threw an #armparty by pairing the arrison stretch bracelet ($29) with the sierra wrap bracelet in ‘slate’ ($59). one of my favorite pieces has been the seine ring ($29 – currently on sale for $23.20!) – since the wrap bracelet is full of mixed metals (making it easy to wear with just about anything), i was able to pull of silver earrings with a gunmetal statement ring. it looked super cool, and nothing i wore really took away from the necklace. success!!!

it wouldn’t be a biker-chic look without some shades, so i threw on my parker sunglasses, which i also featured in my last post! i loved seeing them with a completely different look. on that note, i’ve got to talk about the clothes here, because i chose to wear some of my newest and favorite wardrobe additions all at once! it was only necessary to sport some super-stretch dark denim by william rast (yes, that is justin timberlake’s clothing line!!!!!!!!). though i’ve linked you to the specific jeans found at macy’s…. my pair was purchased at francesca’s, and they were worth every penny. they mold to my body. i feel like i could even work out in these, yet somehow, they are more structured than a ‘jegging’. if there were a true yoga-pant-denim-jean hybrid, these would be it. my tank is a last season special from necessary clothing – a store i love for cute/dressy solids and basics. i appreciate that they stock up on tops that aren’t cropped but aren’t long either. since leggings began to reign supreme, every top i find is longer than the last. sometimes you’re only five feet tall and you just need an average length tank. in comes necessary clothing to save the day. my boots are from clarks, a brand that specializes in comfort (please and thank you!).

saving the best for last, my favorite part of this outfit is the floral sequin party happening on the back of this denim jacket from forever21! seriously one of my favorite new purchases to date. amps up the fun-factor of any outfit, perfect for spring, and contrasting enough in color to have me actually wearing (my own version of) a ‘canadian tuxedo’. don’t forget to shop the last week of my stella & dot trunk show! click here to see all of the styles for spring 2017. too many to choose from!!!! many special thanks to everyone who has ordered, re-posted or even complimented these stella & dot looks! this collaboration has been such a blast and i can’t wait for the next one! do you think you have what it takes to become a stylist? would you like to host and online (or in-person) trunk show of your own? shoot me a message or comment below!
