stella & dot x indigo heights: virtual trunk show look no. 2

as many of you know, i’ve teamed up with stylist jess sigler on a stella & dot virtual/online trunk show. it’s been such a fun experience getting to know this brand’s spring 2017 collection, and trying on all of my favorite styles. this next look is probably my favorite… i paired a silky top from necessary clothing with my favorite vegan ‘leather’ leggings by free people and some booties by american rag. i kept my outfit solid and simple while mixing only the textures and excluding prints. this allowed for the gorrrrrrgeous pieces to really make a statement while pulling this look together.

the first piece worth highlighting is the stella & dot sunday bag in ‘saddle’, which can be worn with a long strap or a shorter shoulder strap. this bucket bag is amazing. it is the perfect size, the leather is buttery and soft, the color is rich (and multi-seasonal i might add) and the hand-wrapped tassel closure is really cool. at $248, this is an everyday bag that acts as a pull-together-piece for so many different kinds of looks.

nothing makes me happier than a good pair of sunglasses, and after nearly two summers of wearing my michael kors aviators (still love them) – it was time for a change, and the parker sunglasses in ‘tortoise’ were exactly what i was looking for. oversized with a slight cat eye, they add a little bit of drama without coming off costumey…. and at $129, they are in the same price range as the shades i was wearing before, so it was a no brainer! on the wrist i layered three different bracelets to create what my s&d stylist jess calls an ‘arm party’. (love that term!) i combined the artisan disc cuff ($39) with the pave disc cuff ($34) and topped them off with my favorite, the chevron leather wrap bracelet ($59)… all three in gold. the leather on the wrap bracelet matches the saddle color of the sunday bag to a tee – and the wrap bracelet in general is something that was super unique to my collection. i tend to wear bangles often, crystal accents, or thick cuffs. i literally did not own a single wrap bracelet until now…. if you haven’t added one of these to your collection yet you are seriously missing out!

and now let me get to the elephant in the room: the unbelievable statement necklace that is actually four-in-one that i am completely obsessed with and have already purchased for my collection. meet the ezra statement necklace. isn’t she a beauty? several of those layers are on removable springs. you can even wrap a strand or two around the wrist to accessorize your outfit completely using just one piece of jewelry. marble is so in right now and i love that the ezra has a hint of it, while blending it in with other colors and textures. the design of this piece succeeds in both wow factor and versatility. personally, i’m not a fan of chunky bold-colored statement necklaces. i own a few, and the ones that i choose tend to lean more neutral in both color and structure…. because i can wear them more frequently without looking like i’m sporting the same outfit. the ezra provides even more of a solution – because now, i can control just how chunky and statement-y i want to be. press play on the video above to see a removable piece in action, and check out the trunk show for many more multi-use pieces by stella & dot!
