after a long flight cross the country, coffee was essential… and i didn’t want something i could get at home, so for our first stop in arizona my hubby and i headed straight to cartel coffee lab, a boutique brewing company serving specialty beverages with six locations, all within the arizona state lines.
if this was one of the best brews that arizona had to offer, then i had to try it – and cartel coffee lab did not disappoint! my husband stephen tried an iced latte, which was smooth and refreshing. meanwhile i – still in ‘frozen new york city’ mode, had a hot columbian roast that had distinct, rich, and chocolatey undertones. some frothy (heart-y?) 2% milk topped it off, and before i knew it, i had my second wind. i was ready to explore. this coffee is strong.
in addition to the product being delicious and high in quality, the space was super cute – exposed beams, string lights, and chic wooden touches – adding a modern, urban feel to a neighborhood otherwise riddled with old school frontier shops and native american trading posts. oh – and did i mention they serve beer? when they say brew, they mean it!
with shops in scottsdale, tucson, tempe, and phoenix, cartel coffee lab is worth a try for anyone exploring the american southwest! check them out on instagram for company updates and crave-inducing coffee themed imagery.
